2024 Registration (archive)

The steps to register:

  1. BEFORE REGISTERING BELOW YOU MUST DO THE FOLLOWING
    1. Fill out these forms and scan/email them to Scott Moonen at scott@moonen.us. Please fill out these forms even if your child is a non-competitive participant:
      1. Our team waiver
      2. The NCHEAC waiver
      3. The concussion awareness form
    2. Sign up for USATF membership at their website. Go to the “Membership” button at the top of the page. Because USATF provides our insurance coverage, your child is expected to have a USATF membership even if they are a non-competitive participant. Our club name is Cary Fire and # is 13-1087. If you registered with USATF in the past for Cary Fire but forget your number, check your TeamSnap profile for your membership number.
    3. Go to the DNPE website to make sure your homeschool is listed. You can’t run the state meet if it isn’t.
  2. Please review the Cary Fire parents’ handbook and be prepared to abide by its expectations
  3. Uniforms for competition
    • All runners must wear solid black (no stripes) running shorts
    • We are still working out jerseys. Orange jerseys are sometimes low in stock so we may have to change our uniform this year or you may need to be flexible about jersey size. If you register before July 1 we will place a group order for jerseys. Here are some things to think about:
      • Middle school races are more flexible and may use all past years’ jerseys
      • High school races are more strict. Right now we hope that we can use the 2022–2023 “Augusta Accelerate” orange and white jersey, but there is a chance we need to purchase a new design. For now assume that your 2022–2023 jersey will still work but this may change
      • If you would like to return a jersey your family is no longer using we would be grateful for that
      • If you register on or after July 1, we will provide you with a link to our team store so that you can purchase your uniform.
  4. Fees for 2024 are as follows, paid to Scott Moonen by check or Paypal or Venmo or Zelle to scott@moonen.us:
    1. $30 for each jersey you are purchasing before July 1, plus:
    2. High school runner $75 before July 1, $150 after
    3. Non–high school runner $60 before July 1, $120 after
    4. For non–competitive runners we request a $30 donation before July 1, $60 after
